good look hit1: Camila

Usually, where I live, there's not a lot of people that has good sense of style when dressing, people just copy everyone and follow awful trends, it even feels like jail, where everyone wear the same terrible orange jumpsuit. But also, there's a tiny group of people who think when they dress up, they know how to pinpoint cool stuff at stores, how to link it with nowaday's trends, match it cleverly within a whole outfit and look like there's never been an easier thing. Those are rare to find, so this new 'good look hit' section in my blog is destined to show you those who I find to have a quite interesting sense of style.

I'm inaugurating this space with Camila, a lovely, pale-skin, bob haircut rocker, movie connoisseur I've been following on Twitter for a while. I ran into her (and Luis, the guy who took the photos... thanks Luis) last friday on the 8th edition of El Nido Creativo, a design-market in my hometown. She was wearing a Zara cat-printed white dress I fell in love right away after I saw it, brown oxfords and a vintage-like backpack. She has a really nice blog: El Metrónomo de Wagner, a Tumblr account: Afánisis, and of course, a Twitter account: @segismunda.

the originals

So, this is the original art I made for my last DIY t-shirt I showed you here, if you're planning to use it without my concern, you'll probably get arrested by the cops from the Council of Original Art Made by Alejandro; bad joke, I know. I actually made two different designs with two different prints from previous Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci's collections, one from FW'11 and the other from Resort '12. I just hope R-Tisc is not reading this post or I might get sued.

xx,
Alejandro.

I swear this isn't a fake Givenchy

I tend to get really bored with what I wear pretty quickly, so I'm constantly making something to my clothes to make 'em look different. This time I decided to do a some DIYs, most of them with some studs and fabric-dye, hope you like everything and get some inspiration to do your own!. I'll be posting my favorite looks and collections on Menswear SS'13 sometime really soon, so stay tuned!

Pronto estaré subiendo mis colecciones favoritas de Menswear SS'13, so stay tuned!

denim jacket: Levi's
scarf/mascada: Yenny Bastida (venezuelan designer)
black t-shirt/ white t-shirt : Traki (local store)
shorts: C'est Pour Toi
square-print shirt: Pima Cotton (local store)
grey shirt: Zara Men. (SORRY IT WAS SO WRINKLED!)

Basically I just glued on some studs into some shirts, I dyed some others with fabric-dye and got the white t-shirt printed. I was just having some fun with Photoshop in the last picture, lol.

xx,
Alejandro.

The Breakfast Club appreciation post

"Dear Mr. Vernon, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. What we did was wrong. But we think you’re crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us… In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain, and an athlete, and a basket case, a princess, and a criminal.  Does that answer your question?
Sincerely yours, the Breakfast Club."
Simply, one of the best movies of humanity, and one of my favorite movies.
xx,
Alejandro.
